It is the red sea
Red is the sunset
It is a car
Red is the sunrise
But guess what?
Gold's the best.

Cross Country Races
Yesterday it was the cross country race. At the start I was excited. I was zooming along. I came fourth. I felt proud of myself. I stayed and watched the big kids for a while. I got a sweet. After the race I was very, very tired. I got so puffed that I could hardly breath.

Our Cross Country Stories
Yesterday was the cross country race. I was in front of the five year old girls for quite a while. But Carly won in the five year old girls race. My Mum and Dad clapped and cheered. It was AMAZING! Dad thought I was a little rocket.

I went to the Cross Country and I was running. It was at the front field. I came in front of Sam. I was tired.

Trade-a-Thing Day
We have been learning about imports and exports and how New Zealand trades with other countries. We brought 2 or 3 small things to school to trade with other children in our syndicate. First we had a good look at all the things the other children had brought. Then we started trading. It was fun. Some children finished quickly and others traded their things more than once. We loved the toys we got.

Our Choir Concert
On Tuesday night, our big choir did a concert. Before the concert, the choir kids got hot chocolate and hot chips. It was awesome. Aria was singing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star all by herself. She looked cute.

The Legend of Matariki
Once upon a time there lived seven fishes. One day the mother fish said to the seven fish,
"Stay by the rocks or something might happen".
Tataraimaka's net hit the water and all the seven fish got caught. The seven fish cried. Their tears were making the sea salty. Then Tataraimaka threw the net up into the sky and the seven fish turned into seven stars and now they are called Matariki.
Retold by Eva
Once upon a time there lived seven little fishes. Their mum told them not to go out to play because there was a giant. But they forgot that the giant was out there. So they got caught in the magic net that he had made. He turned the fish into stars.
Retold by Eden
Once upon a time there were some fish. The magic fish said,
"Stay by the rocks."
Then they forgot about their promise. They were playing tag and then the net came down on them. They were crying and the sea got all the salt from their tears. The God of Light was sorry for the fish. So he took the magic flax net away up to the sky and the seven fish turned into stars.
