Our Colour Poems

Red!
Red is hot lava from a volcano
It is the red sea
Red is the sunset
It is a car
Red is the sunrise
But guess what?
Gold's the best.
by George

Red!
Red is the colour of fire
Red is the roses and a ring
But guess what?
Blue's the best.
by Ruby

Red!
Red is the colour of strawberries
It is the colour of a rose
Red is the colour of the fire
It is the colour of lava
Red is the colour of an apple
It is the colour of red icing
You know what?
Orange is best!
by Emma

Gold!
Gold is the colour of treasure and a trophy so sparkly
It is the colour of the stars
But guess what?
Blue is the best.
by Yasmina

Blue!
Blue is the colour of the sea
It is the sky
Blue is a starfish
It is the rain
But guess what?
Gold's the best.
By Pete

Gold!
Gold os money
It is the sand in the sun
But guess what?
Silver's the best.

Cross Country Photos

Cross Country Races

Yesterday it was the cross country race. At the start I was excited. I was zooming along. I came fourth. I felt proud of myself. I stayed and watched the big kids for a while. I got a sweet. After the race I was very, very tired. I got so puffed that I could hardly breath.

Our Cross Country Stories

Yesterday was the cross country race. I was in front of the five year old girls for quite a while. But Carly won in the five year old girls race. My Mum and Dad clapped and cheered. It was AMAZING! Dad thought I was a little rocket.

I went to the Cross Country and I was running. It was at the front field. I came in front of Sam. I was tired.
by Jackson

At the Cross Country when we started there were lots of people in front of me. Then I passed a lot of people. Then at the finish line I came fourth. I felt very happy.

Renwick 2 did the Cross Country. I came seventh. At the start I went very fast and I was third but then I started to slow down. I was very happy!!! Mummy was there until I ran.

Trade-a-Thing Day

We have been learning about imports and exports and how New Zealand trades with other countries. We brought 2 or 3 small things to school to trade with other children in our syndicate. First we had a good look at all the things the other children had brought. Then we started trading. It was fun. Some children finished quickly and others traded their things more than once. We loved the toys we got.

Weaving

Renwick Two are learning to weave. We used different kinds of material and a paper plate. We did over, under, over, under. On the next row we did under, over, under, over. Here is some of our work.
